Dataset Description

This dataset contains 150+ news articles collected from two major Nepalese online publications, The Himalayan Times and The Kathmandu Post, covering the period from February 21 to March 9, 2026. It captures the interplay between domestic political events (the historic Rastriya Swatantra Party election victory, Gen Z protests), business and economic developments (NEPSE stock market surge, gold price volatility, plywood exports), and external geopolitical shocks (the US/Israel–Iran war affecting aviation, remittances, and fuel prices). Each record includes the article headline, source URL, publication date, and full text content, making it ideal for text analysis, sentiment tracking, topic modeling, and investigating correlations between news narratives and market indicators.
